Mashable Week 8 Cont.

There was an article about Kayne's new found interest in Twitter. I read the article and realized how real Twitter is. You can really see what celebrities and other people are thinking at the time. I feel that Kayne is seriously sorry about the Talyor Swift incident. His tweets show that he is really sorry for coming off as an asshole lately and wants people to look at him differently.

I think that wiki finally making something that will make them money is a good idea. All that work they do should finally pay off more. Also craigslist now censoring adult services and now it just says censored makes sense. Everything get censored so I agree that they should do this. They also are making more of an effort to remove prostitutes from the website. People still will find a way to find these services if they know where to look. So overall it just makes it harder for people looking for prostitutes but they will find them.

Mashable Week 8

The first article is about a Facebook phone, which the Facebook people shot down right away. They said they are not in the phone business and they want to make the social website better and apps better. There are rumors about a third party working with them to make this phone but they won't say they are. I feel that they should. It would make them millions and why wouldn't they want to make more money. Becuase in the end isn't this what it's all about, making money, they wouldn't be doing it still if they weren't making money.

I like the pictures that this artist, Alejo Malia, made. They are neat because it feels like google is a real part of our everyday life and having these markers in real life wouldn't be out of this world. I think you should check this pictures out. http://mashable.com/2010/09/12/google-maps-art/

to be continued..

Mashable Week 7

The first article is "Who said it?" I think this website could be pretty funny because some peoples Facebook statuses could fit there profile picture and would be really funny. I think it would be pretty funny if they could do it with your friends and put up some from the past and have you guess. It would be funny to see old statuses that your friends put up but I guess some of the old statuses could not be funny but hurtful to some people. So I guess just keep your profile private if you don't want people seeing your status.

The second article is about John Mayer quitting Twitter. My opinion is who cares? He may have thousands of fans but if he wants to quit he can quit. Why do I care if he doesn't go on Twitter. It's like what if you quit Facebook? I don't care, your just missing out now.

The next article is about journalism is moving to the internet more and more. They also talk about how information can get shared so easily and people can post things instantly. I feel like in the future people will just need computers to get all of their information.

The last article is about how these burglars used facebook to find out when people weren't home and they robbed their house. They used facebook's new FB locations tool and they would know that people weren't home. I think that the location tool is pretty stupid because why do people need to know where you are at every minute. I think it is to much and that if you want other people to know where you are put it as your status. But I think that gets kind of stupid too. There hasn't been many burglaries that have been linked to Facebook but I would be careful on what you post.

Week 6 Mashable

The first article was the Twitter guide book. This helped me understand Twitter a lot better because I really had no idea what I was doing on it. Reading this made me understand what people do on Twitter and the features it has. It has made using Twitter much easier and now I understand what kind of things to post.

The second article was about Mafia Wars and their questionable way of advertising. I think it is an out of the box idea but I probably wouldn't have gone that way. They pretty much were littering the streets with advertisements and I agree that the city major would be mad about this. I think that it was a gutsy move that may have worked because of the publicity that it got.

The next article was about a girl throwing puppies into a river. I think she is a horrible person and she should get in trouble in some way. At least her picture should be posted everywhere so she is embarrassed about what she did.

The last article is about a kid from the UK that sent a threat via e-mail to Obama. Now the kid is banned from the US. I think they went over board with banning him from the US for life but I guess they are supper strict on things and he probably shouldn't have done something so stupid. This kid is probably harmless but I guess they will do whatever to keep the president alive.

Week 5 Mashable

So today I read some interesting articles on Mashable. The first article I read was a guide to Twitter. Twitter is a very interesting site that has been very trendy lately. Twitter is a social media site where you can go on and share information and discuss various subjects. It is a great tool to connect with people you know and people you have similar interests with. How you use it is by making tweets that hopefully stir up conversation with other people or you can tweet on things that you are doing. Also you can make comments on other peoples tweets or tweet at other users. Twitter is a very integrate site where you can connect and share information with people. Another article I read that was also about Twitter that concerned Justin Bieber. In the article it said that Bieber took up 3% of Twitters server infrastructure. This is a huge because Twitter has millions of users and for only one person to take up 3% of their servers is huge. Think how many tweets and retweets are going around concerning him if he takes up this much of the infrastructure. It is said that after he puts a tweet up there is 60 @replies per second. There are a few too many crazy 15 year old girls out there I guess.

Another article I read was about Mark Zuckleburg (the creator of Facebook). It said that you can't block him on Facebook no matter what you do. Some people think this is weird and creepy but I could really care less so on to the next subject.

Angry bird is a popular game on Iphones and it is now available on other phones. My best friend was a huge fan of this game so I guess this article caught my attention but I really don't care unless I can get it on my phone. There's also the fact that I don't know if I would spend the money on it but I guess you never know.

The movie Social Network came out this week and was a big hit. I seen it and liked it a lot and would tell people to go see it. The last article I read was pretty much the story about how Facebook started and some facts about it and tells you about some uses of FB. I pretty much already knew most of this stuff so it didn't excite me to much but for people that don't know anything will find this interesting. Here's a link to the article if you feel up to reading it, Facebook.
